We recently had the opportunity to learn more about Lisa Gage, her approach, and the path that led her to pursue becoming a CoolSculpting® Master.

How and when did you know you wanted to be in medical aesthetics? Were you always interested in aesthetic services, and what was your path to working in aesthetics?

For 20 years I worked as a Medical Assistant in a primary care setting. As rewarding as my job duties were during those years, as well as the rapport I built with patients, I found myself longing for a change. I knew I still wanted to make a positive impact in patients’ lives and found aesthetics to be an intriguing avenue to pursue. In 2015, I started my first position in an aesthetic setting. I fell in love with having a part in making women and men of all ages feel good about how they look and feel about themselves. This path has been so different, but just as rewarding. Every day I am grateful for the opportunities I have been given, while utilizing the latest techniques with the most innovative technology.

What do you enjoy most about treating your patients and what is unique about your approach?

My goal with all patients is for them to feel like they are being heard, alleviate any uneasiness, and help them achieve the best outcome and experience possible! By using this approach, I can make them feel comfortable and at ease during the assessment process.

What is new and improved with CoolSculpting® Elite treatments?

Having worked with both the CoolSculpting® Legacy and state-of-the-art CoolSculpting® Elite machines, I have personally seen and experienced faster and improved results with the Elite. The Legacy served us well for many years, but the Elite is by far superior.

With the CoolSculpting® Elite, you are getting the most advanced non invasive fat reduction technology. It is FDA-cleared to eliminate fat in 9 different areas of the body. The new system features revamped applicators that are shaped to fit a patient’s natural curves. The applicators have up to an 18% larger cooling area than the Legacy. The best feature, in my opinion, is that I can use 2 applicators simultaneously, freezing twice the fat in half the time, with essentially no downtime.

Which patients would you recommend a CoolSculpting® Elite treatment for? What kind of results can patients expect to see?

The ideal CoolSculpting® Elite candidate varies depending on the patient’s goals. I have successfully treated patients that:

  • are already following a healthy lifestyle, but have a stubborn area(s) that they cannot get rid of with diet and exercise
  • feel that making the investment in the procedure will jumpstart them into a healthier lifestyle
  • want to feel better in their clothes and are simply looking for some devolumizing
  • have asymmetry due to surgeries, genetics, etc.

Each patient responds differently to the procedure; some can start to see results as early as 4 weeks post-treatment, with a gradual reduction through the following 8 weeks.

What are some common treatment areas for CoolSculpting® Elite, and what have you seen to be most effective?

CoolSculpting® Elite treats most areas from the chin to the knees. For women, the abdomen is the most common, and for men, the flanks (aka love handles), but I have seen amazing results on ALL areas indicated for CoolSculpting® on both men and women. Most patients return for additional areas because they are so pleased with their results.

What can patients expect from a CoolSculpting® Elite treatment with you?

By the end of a consultation, where I have gone into detail about what to expect during and after the treatment, my goal is that patients feel that they can trust me, trust the process, and have a realistic expectation of their optimal outcome. On their treatment day, they can look forward to sitting back, relaxing, watching Netflix (or working as many do), and being well taken care of.

What do you like to do when you are not in the office?

When I am not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my family and long-time friends kayaking, hiking, gardening, socializing, and just enjoying life.

Answer this question: If you know me you would know…

If you know me you would know…I am organized to a fault. I like symmetry, things to match and be in their place. It’s a great asset in the workplace, but not so much at home, it drives my husband and son crazy!
