Abel D. Jarell, MD, FAAD
Double Board-Certified Dermatologist & Dermatopathologist
Abel D. Jarell, MD, FAAD is a West Point graduate and Harvard-trained double board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist. Dr. Jarell has been providing dermatology services since 2009, treating patients of all ages. He specializes in complex medical dermatology and is an active clinical trials investigator who has been directly involved in the development of the majority of the modern therapeutics currently used in dermatology.
Dr. Jarell earned his Doctor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and completed his residency in dermatology in the Harvard Dermatology Residency Program where he was named Chief Resident. He then completed a fellowship in dermatopathology through the internationally renowned University of California in San Francisco dermatopathology training program.
Before medical school, he attended the United States Military Academy at West Point where he earned his Bachelor of Science in chemistry and was recognized as a Distinguished Cadet (top 5% in class academically). As part of his military obligation, he served in two combat theaters. Most of his Army medical career was spent at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center where he was on the dermatology and dermatopathology faculty and co-founded the dermatopathology fellowship program as well as the Melanoma and Pigmented Lesion Clinic at the Murtha Cancer Center.
In his free time, Dr. Jarell enjoys spending time with his wife and children, traveling, listening to music, kitesurfing, and staying abreast of innovative technologies.
Dr. Jarell looks forward to continuing to provide industry-leading dermatology care to patients in the New Hampshire seacoast area.
